Biographical Sketch
Dr. Ramon Goforth

Dr. Goforth has been principal investigator on a number of externally funded research programs totaling over one million dollars. Funding agencies include the National Science Foundation (NSF), U.S. Air Force Materials Lab, the State of Texas and numerous industrial firms. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed, papers, proceedings and book chapters.

Dr. Goforth's wife, Jo Ann, is retired from a staff position at TAMU and from Administrative Assistant at First Baptist Church of College Station. The Goforths have two grown children and two granddaughters. Music is an interest and pastime for both Ray and Jo Ann: Jo Ann is a vocalist and music director, while Ray plays the piano. Both of their children are musically talented: Nannette is a piano teacher and James is a Christian Contemporary Artist and guitarist. Nannette lives with her husband, Paul, and two daughters, Natalie and Catherine, in Colorado Springs where Paul works for Focus on the Family. James has a Christian music ministry and composes and performs. The Goforths are active members of the First Baptist Church of Bryan, Texas, where they teach a Sunday School class and sing in the adult choir.
