Biographical Sketch
Dr. Patricia Griffin

Dr. Patricia Griffin has a B.A. from Baylor University, 1966 and a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, 1971. Dr. Griffin’s fields are international relations, Far Eastern politics and American politics. Dr. Griffin was formerly on the faculty of Cabrini College, Rice University and University of Houston before coming the Texas A & M in 1982. She has over 20 years of teaching experience at the college level. Recently, she has been teaching large sections (250-300 students each) of the introductory American Government class. In 1998 Dr. Griffin was honored for her teaching by having a "Fish Camp" named for her. In addition, Dr. Griffin is the author of The Chinese Communist Treatment of Counter- revolutionaries: 1924-1949 (Princeton University Press, 1976) and a article in The China Quarterly (1974). Current research interests continue to focus on the Peoples Republic of China.

Dr. Griffin’s husband, James M. Griffin is a full professor of Economics at Texas A & M . The Griffin’s have three children. One is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Arizona State University, another is in graduate school in School Psychology at the University of Texas and the youngest is a student at Blinn College. A cattle ranch in Central Texas provides the Griffins lots of outdoor activities and leisure activities, as well as plans for retirement. The Griffins are active in the First Baptist Church of College Station. Patricia also teaches a Bible Study at the retirement community where her parents live.
