Monday Ministry Minutes

From CLM Staff Member Mike Sorgius

Monday Ministry Minute #10

God and the Academy Conference

"God and the Academy: Charting the Course for the New Millennium" is the name of a major conference slated for June 21-25, 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia. Co-sponsored by Christian Leadership Ministries and Ravi Zacharias Ministries, this conference will bring together some of the best minds in the Christian community to discuss issues of apologetics, academic integration, communication skills, and direct ministry for today's academic. We are praying for 1,000 faculty and graduate students to attend this groundbreaking event.

Would you like to:

  • Network with colleagues in your discipline around the world to collaborate and discover common research interests?

  • Discover ways in which to integrate your worldview within appropriate areas of your discipline?

  • Become better equipped to communicate truth in today's postmodern campus culture?

  • Hear from experts on how to choose strategic research topics, obtain funding, and publish your results?

  • Learn how to create and deliver effective presentations?

  • Learn how to better focus your efforts on campus to facilitate a successful tenure decision?

These are just some of the topics that will be discussed at "God and the Academy." Plenary speakers will include Ravi Zacharias, Alister McGrath, Phillip Johnson, D.A. Carson, Walter Bradley, J. Budziszewski, and Elaine Storkey. Many other premiere Christian thinkers will join us in leading discipline-related sessions.

Like to know more? Visit the web site with complete registration information at: http://www.clm.org/chartthecourse. You can read about the speakers, see the conference schedule, view the wonderful accomodations at Georgia Tech's Olympic Village, and much more.

Do you know of Christians in your discipline at other campuses that might like to know about this conference? Why don't you forward each of them a copy of this MMM via email?

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:12 -- "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

Action Point: Check out our conference web site, put the dates on your calendar and plan now to attend.
